Biography
Denny Prokopos was born and raised in San Francisco. He started training Jiu Jitsu when he was 12 years old with Professor Charles Gracie. At the age of 16, he started training with 10th Planet founder and BJJ legend Eddie Bravo as his game started to evolve, and he preferred no-gi Jiu Jitsu over traditional gi Jiu Jitsu.
In high school, Denny Prokopos also added wrestling to his resume, competing all throughout secondary school with the exception of the last year due to a bad injury that prevented him from training.
After years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice, he was awarded his black belt in 2009. He was the first black belt promoted by Eddie Bravo and the first in the 10th Planet system. Also, in 2009 he was part of the American National Team at the FILA Grappling Championship, being coached by Ricardo Liborio. Denny would go onto win the tournament and was the 2009 Fila World Champion!
In 2009 he started teaching, and the rest is history!
